Generalized Z - Scaling in Proton - Proton Collisions at High Energies
New generalization of z-scaling in inclusive particle production is proposed. The scaling variable z is fractal measure which depends on kinematical characteristics of the underlying sub-process expressed in terms of the momentum fractions x 1 and x 2 of the incoming protons. In the generalized approach, the x 1 and x 2 are functions of the momentum fractions y a and y b of the scattered and re...
متن کاملGluon mini-jet production in nuclear collisions at high energies
We show explicitly that the leading soft gluon pT distribution, predicted by Kovner, McLerran, and Weigert after solving classical Yang-Mills equations, can be understood in terms of conventional QCD perturbation theory. We also demonstrate that the key logarithm in their result represents the logarithm in DGLAP evolution equations. PACS numbers: 12.38.Bx, 12.38.Mh, 24.85.+p Typeset using REVTEX
متن کاملZ-scaling of Jet Production at Tevatron
New data on jet production obtained by the CDF and D0 Collaborations at the Tevatron in Run II are analyzed in the framework of z-scaling. Properties of data z-presentation are discussed. Physics interpretation of the scaling function ψ(z) as a probability density to produce a particle with the formation length z is argued. It was shown that these experimental data confirm z-scaling. متن کاملNon–perturbative computation of gluon mini–jet production in nuclear collisions at very high energies
At very high energies, in the infinite momentum frame and in light cone gauge, a hard scale proportional to the high parton density arises in QCD. In an effective theory of QCD at small x, this scale is of order αSμ, where μ is simply related to the gluon density at higher rapidities. The ab initio real time evolution of small x modes in a nuclear collision can be described consistently in the ...
متن کاملJet Tomography Studies in AuAu Collisions at RHIC Energies
Recent RHIC results on pion production in AuAu collision at √ s = 130 and 200 AGeV display a strong suppression effect at high pT . This suppression can be connected to final state effects, namely jet energy loss induced by the produced dense colored matter. Applying our pQCD-based parton model we perform a quantitative analysis of the measured suppression pattern and determine the opacity of t...
